Malaysia-- the de facto largest producer of aquarium fish in the world
Since the 1950s, Malaysians has been culturing aquarium fish for export . Today Malaysia breeds about 230 species or more than 600 varieties of aquarium fish. That makes Malaysia the de facto largest breeder of aquarium fish in the world , both in terms of variety and quantiy. All the fishes you see here are either indigenous , imported and bred in Malaysia , or otherwise stated.
